Rejecting Advances with Dignity: Lessons in Biblical Sexual Purity from the Streets of Abuja, Nigeria.

Rejecting Advances with Dignity: Lessons in Biblical Sexual Purity from the Streets of Abuja, Nigeria.

In a recent incident in Abuja, a woman simply exercising her right to say “no” faced violence from a married elderly man. He allegedly slapped her and broke her glasses when she declined his attempt to “get to know her.” Bystanders calmed him instead of holding him accountable. Such events grieve the heart of God and underscore the urgent need for Biblical sexual purity in our society.

Biblical sexual purity is not merely abstaining from physical immorality; it is a holistic call to holiness that honors God with our bodies, minds, and relationships (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). It demands self-control, respect for others as image-bearers of God (Genesis 1:27), and fidelity within marriage.

  1. Self-Control and Purity of Heart: Jesus taught that lustful looks already constitute adultery in the heart (Matthew 5:27-28). A married man pursuing a stranger violates his covenant and objectifies the woman. Biblical manhood requires guarding one’s eyes and heart (Job 31:1; Proverbs 4:23). True purity flees temptation rather than forcing unwanted attention.
  2. Respecting Boundaries and Consent: Saying “no” is not an invitation for aggression. The Bible commands husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the Church, sacrificially and gently (Ephesians 5:25). Forcing attention or reacting with violence disrespects the dignity God placed in every woman. Purity respects “no” as a boundary, reflecting the freedom Christ gives us.
  3. Protecting the Vulnerable: Bystanders who only “calmed” the aggressor failed to stand for justice (Proverbs 31:8-9; Isaiah 1:17). The church must model protection of women and girls, teaching young men to honor sisters in Christ (1 Timothy 5:2). Sexual purity extends to defending the innocent.
  4. Healing and Restoration: For victims like this young woman, God is near the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Forgiveness is possible through Christ, but justice matters. We urge reporting such incidents and seeking godly counsel.

Call to Action for Biblical Sexual Purity Ministry: Parents, teach your children God’s design for sexuality, exclusive within heterosexual marriage (Genesis 2:24; Hebrews 13:4). Churches, preach purity unashamedly. Men, pursue holiness and accountability. Women, know your worth in Christ and stand firm. Let us build a culture where purity brings freedom, not fear. Visit www.biblicalsexualpurity.org for resources, teachings, and support.

May this incident stir us to live pure lives that glorify God amid a perverse generation (Philippians 2:15).

Groom, three friends arrested for allegedly killing wife in marathon sex

Groom, three friends arrested for allegedly killing wife in marathon sex

A heartbreaking incident has shocked the community of Tungo village in Jigawa State, Nigeria. On April 26, 2025, the Jigawa State Police Command arrested a groom and his friends for allegedly coercing a young bride into non-consensual sexual activity, tragically leading to her death.

A statement made available to newsmen in Dutse, the state capital, on Sunday evening by the police spokesperson noted, “The groom, identified as Auwal Abdulwahab, 20, and his friends, Nura Basiru, 20, Muttaka Lawan, 20, and Hamisu Musa, 20, all from Tungo village, were arrested and taken into custody for discreet investigation.”

The sad event unfolded around 10 PM when police were alerted and a team, led by the Divisional Police Officer, rushed to the scene. It was reported that the bride had experienced disagreements with her husband over marital relations since their wedding. Unfortunately, those tensions culminated in a tragic outcome.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Abdullahi, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse to ensure a detailed and impartial investigation.

This tragedy serves as a painful reminder of the importance of respecting the dignity, will, and safety of every individual, especially within marriage. This is such an abominable act that no one could have imagined it in their hearts.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this devastating time. We pray that justice will be served and that such heartbreaking acts will be prevented in the future.

Final Word of Advice:

Marriage is built on love, trust, and mutual respect — not force or fear. Biblical marriage is between a man and a woman. Inviting friends to forcefully violate one’s wife is forbidden and must be punished. No one has the right to violate another, even within marriage. Let us all stand together to promote marriages that reflect the fear of God, honor, kindness, and dignity.

70 year old man arrested for defiling 8-yr-old girl in Niger State

70 year old man arrested for defiling 8-yr-old girl in Niger State

A 70 years old man has been arrested by the Niger state police for allegedly raping an 8 year old girl in Minna, Niger State. The man who was identified as Mohammed Sani Umar (Tela) committed the hideous act in Chanchaga area of the state.

It was gathered that Umar had raped the girl twice and had given her the sum of eighty Naira to keep silent about the incident. The girl’s uncle who was identified as Abubakar on narration said that his niece fell sick for a few weeks and despite many treatments she was still not getting well, a neighbor then advised the mother to observe the girl, and after some days, the mother noticed some blood stains in her daughter’s underwear. She asked her what happened to her and the little girl took her mother to the man’s house and pointed at him.

On seeing the girl and her mother, the man started pleading with them to cover it up, and that he would take responsibility. The angry and devastated mother on hearing this started crying and shouting for help, which prompted people to gather around and on hearing what happened, an angry mob descended on him, beating him up mercilessly.

Umar was further handed to police custody, with the family of the victim pleading that justice be served.

According to Sahara reporters, Umar admitted before a magistrate court on Wednesday that he raped the little girl twice because he loved her. The magistrate following the request of the prosecution, adjourned the case until July 23 and ordered the suspect to be remanded at the Minna new prison.

We must not forget God’s original purpose of creating sex.  Raping minors is not part of God’s purpose. The incessant increase of rape cases, especially of minors, and sexual immorality all over the world show clearly that man is rapidly drifting away from God and heading to destruction. God’s judgment is eminent. There is therefore the urgent need for repentance.

About 400 gay people in Ghana to be cured of homosexuality

Around 400 gay people in Ghana will reportedly take part in a gay ‘cure’ therapy forum in the country.

The attendees, who have all allegedly signed up voluntarily, will receive ‘counselling’ and ‘reformation’ at the anti-gay conference, which has the theme: “Exploring the myths surrounding LGBT rights.”

The National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values (NCPHSRFV), which is running the forum, said in April that Prime Minister Theresa May’s pro-LGBT+ speech to Commonwealth leaders was part of a Western plan to reduce the continent’s population.

PinkNews reports that the leader, Moses Foh-Amoaning, said that the “400 men and women voluntarily surrendered themselves and registered with the coalition to undergo a sexual evangelism programme recently.”

The event will take place in an undisclosed location in the country.

Foh-Amoaning then announced plans to open a ‘Holistic Sexual Therapy Unit’ at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra which will also attempt to ‘cure’ queer people of their sexuality, according to the state-owned Daily Graphic.

He said that religious leaders and people versed in ‘traditional medicine’ would ‘treat’ people alongside medical staff.

He also revealed plans to make the law, which currently criminalises homosexuality with a maximum prison term of three years, force queer people to undergo gay ‘conversion’ therapy.

Foh-Amoaning said that “a bill known as ‘Who is on the Lord’s Side’ will then be introduced in Parliament for subsequent passage into law.

“We will make our punishment corrective instead of punitive.”

The head of the NCPHSRFV has a long history of anti-gay campaigning, having previously insisted gay people shouldn’t have rights and that pro-LGBT+ activism was a form of neocolonialism.

Foh-Amoaning has also stated that “the anus was not created for sex” and compared it female genital mutilation.

His group campaigns against any political party which supports homosexuality in the country.

In 2015, he said that churches would end up being “dominated by homosexuals” if the clergy didn’t stage a “blistering crusade” against homosexuality.

The law lecturer said the “dormant posture” of the Ghanaian clergy would see the “houses of God being ruled by evil homosexuals.”

Earlier this month, the country’s President Nana Akufo-Addo said he had “no plans” to change the country’s laws on homosexuality.

This represented a disappointing shift from the President’s comments last year, when he said that the legalisation of homosexuality in Ghana was “bound to happen” eventually.

He rowed back his position in a speech to the 2018 Synod of the Global Evangelical Church, insisting that he would not support such a change in the law.

The President said it was “important that we do not debase the principles we purport to uphold.”

He added that Ghana’s government has “no authority” to make leaps forward in legislating for LGBT+ equality, “and we will not seek any authority to do so.”

Kenyan lady, Judith Wandera, Bags 15-Year Jail For Defiling Boy

Kenyan lady, Judith Wandera, Bags 15-Year Jail For Defiling Boy

Kenyan lady, Judith Wandera, 24, has been imprisoned for 15 years by a local court after she was found guilty of defiling a 16-year-old boy.

Wandera was accused of defiling the minor on various dates, reports Standard Media.
A prosecutor, Nyakundi Mukaya, told the court that medical evidence from a specimen collected from the duo confirmed that the woman and the schoolboy were having an intimate affair.
He noted that the boy had been living with the accused for more than four months. The court heard that as a result of the affair, the minor dropped out of school and moved in with the accused before he was rescued by police officers.
“The boy was rescued on July 7, 2017, and the accused was arrested by police officers,” said Mukaya. After the rescue, he said, the boy was taken to a correctional facility before he was released back to his parents.
The parents of the boy told the court that their son stopped taking school seriously after he met the woman and they sought the intervention of the police after the boy started living with her.
But in her defence, Wandera said that she did not know that the boy was a minor adding that he was a drug addict by the time they met. “We met at a drinking joint one evening of April 2016 in Kondele where he even offered to buy me drinks.
We exchanged phone contacts and started dating,” Wandera added that she could not establish the age of the boy because he was also a boda boda operator (commercial motorcycle rider) and only appeared “young when he came to testify.”
“He had dreadlocks when we met and only appeared young after his dreadlocks were shaved before he was brought to court to testify,” said Wandera in her defence.
